To create these works on paper, I am using a flatbed scanner to change the shape of luxury items. Dragging the original cut-out across the surface slowly and methodically, I manipulate and disrupt the source image in an analog way. The result of this literal dance is soothing and surrealistic, visually deconstructing the value of perception of the photograph as a fantasy and document. I am exploring the vulnerability an illusion - using motion to physically change the photograph and show the gaps in photographic mirages.
